On Tuesday, July 31th the La Mirada Disc Golf Club held their Weekly Disc Golf Tournament. This week we played the LAKE-18 PAR 54 course. We had an awsome turnout with 44 players in four (4) divisions, Open (7), Advanced (17), Intermediate (11) and Novice (9).
In the Open division it was Joel Hall who took 1st place with a score of 42 (-12) for $43. It's been awhile Joel...Nice Shooting! Tied for 2nd was Craig Neil and Larry Grace (49).
On Tuesday, July 24th the La Mirada Disc Golf Club held their Weekly Disc Golf Tournament. This week we played the BACK-18 PAR 57 course. We had an another good turnout with 40 players in four (4) divisions, Open (6), Advanced (11), Intermediate (11) and Novice (12).
In the Open division it was regular Jose Alcala who took it away from Craig Neill and the rest of the Open players with a score of 51 (-6) for $49.
In the Advanced division it Skip Marbach once again taking 1st place with a score of 52 (-5) for $34.
On Tuesday, July 17th the La Mirada Disc Golf Club held their Weekly Disc Golf Tournament. We had an awesome turnout with 47 players in four (4) divisions, Open (6), Advanced (10), Intermediate (10) and Novice (21).
In the Open division it was well known and respected Stu Mendenhall who took 1st place with a score of 44 (-10) for $49. Nice shooting Stu and thanks for coming!
In the Advanced division it our own Skip Marbach who stepped up and took 1st place with a score of 52 (-2) for $35. Nice shooting Skip.
On Saturday, July 14th the La Mirada Disc Golf Club held their Monthly Disc Golf Tournament for July at La Mirada Regional Park. We had a good turnout with 32 players in four (4) divisions, Open (3), Advanced (5), Intermediate (15) and Novice (9).
In the Open division we had a tie for 1st place between new comer to Open, Rory Coe and regular "Super" Dave Bretado. They shot 105 (-6) for $20 each.
In the Advanced division it was regular Carlos Contreras who took 1st place with a score of 106 (-5) for $24.
The La Mirada Disc Golf Club in cooperation with the LA County of Parks and Recreation and the La Mirada Pro Shop (Mr. Lee and Patrick McConnell) worked on Sunday, July 15th to replace the Lakeside-18 Tee #8 and #9. These two tees were the oldest and most cracked tees remaining on the Lakeside 18 course. We want to thank everyone for coming out and helping (in no particular order), Jerry Ross, Dan Dantuma, Indigo Brude, Michael Hole, Bryant Schroder, Brad Hickey, Gilbert Corona, Mike and Michelle, Nick, Tom Ulibarri, Mike Williams, Kyle Maddox, Rick and Debbie Ascheri.
On Tuesday, July 10th the La Mirada Disc Golf Club held their first Weekly Disc Golf Tournament for July at La Mirada Regional Park. We had a good turnout with 39 players in four (4) divisions, Open (4), Advanced (10), Intermediate (11) and Novice (14).
In the Open division it was our regular Jose Alcala who took 1st with a score of 49 (-8) for $39.
In the Advanced division it was Larry "The Legend" Grace who took 1st place with a score of 52 (-5) for $30.
The La Mirada Disc Golf Club will be hosting their Monthly Disc Golf Tournament on Saturday, July 14th. We will try and tee off at 10am so PLEASE be registered and ready to play by 9:45am.
We will be playing 2 rounds. The 1st round will be Lake-18 PAR 54 followed by a 30 minute lunch and then Back-18 PAR 57. We will have four (4) division as usual, Open, Advanced, Intermediate and Novice.
Attention Tournament Players. The La Mirada Disc Golf Club has renegotiated their LA County Fee. As a result the Tournament Fees will be increased from 50 cents per person to $1.00 per person. The $1.00 per person will be paid to the LA County through the La Mirada Tennis Pro Shop. The new disc golf tournament fees are as listed below:
